Addressing my domestick cates

“Ambilis nyo naubos pagkain nyo, mga p*ng hayop kayo?” (Finished your food so quickly, have you, bastard beasts?)

That’s how I usually address my domestick cates. I do that on point of principle, to remind them (and people around them) that they are animals, and thus they should assert their animal rights and voice out their demands and peaceably assemble without having to ask anyone for a rally permit. My friend Kabsat Kandu is not impressed with Hitchens’ insight. He cites a pithier one by Winston Churchill: “Dogs look up to us. Cats look down on us. Pigs treat us as equals.”

“That’s why,” Kandu says, “I’d rather take care of my pigs, which bring me extra income, rather than cats, which steal food from my kitchen.”
